Singer-songwriter, performing artist and music entrepreneur Rob Rodell knew he wanted to be singer when he was 3, started piano at the late age of 7, has been performing since the age of 9, made his debut in studio at 11, his TV debut at 13, and started performing professionally at 16.

Rob did his DipABRSM (Singing) through the Royal Schools of Music in 2002, and in 2009 became the first person in the world to do his Licentiate (LRSL) in Singing through Rockschool, passing with distinction.

With Namwaaka, the singer-songwriter duo he is part of, he came in the top 20 of the Hansa Pilsener Songwriting Competition in 2003. In 2006, Namwaaka won the Top Billing Momentum Lifestyle Music Award, beating local acts Goldfish and Moreira (both SAMA winners), as well as Coda and Sean Burke.

in 2011, Rob was nominated for a South African Music Award (SAMA), for his 4-part harmony Christmas album, A Cappella Christmas. In 2010 and 2011, his smash hit Could This Be Love with DJs Cuebur and Shimza was a regular feature on radio (including YFM and Metro) and was released on three Soul Candi albums, with sales in excess of 10,000 units (gold status in South Africa).

In April 2012, he completed Brumilda van Rensburg's (of Egoli fame) drama and TV course, passing with distinction (A+).

Rob is currently doing his BMus degree, his D Litt et Phil degree in marketing communications on music marketing and branding, is the owner of the Music Business Academy (a college that teaches music business courses), has co-written a musical with a second one in the pipeline, and is working on releasing his 11th, 12th and 13th albums.
